President directs preservation and orders renovation of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar tomb (mausoleum)

ISLAMABAD-President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday directed the concerned authorities to carry out a detailed survey on the preservation of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar [RA] tomb (mausoleum) and prepare a plan for its renovation.
He said this at a presentation given to him on the proposed renovation of the mausoleum. He said the cultural assets of Pakistan must be preserved and protected so that people from around the world, who wanted to learn about these cultural assets could benefit from them. He directed the concerned authorities to renovate and preserve the mausoleum facilitate visiting pilgrims.
During a presentation given to him on renovation and preservation of mazar of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, the President said cultural assets must be preserved so that people all across the world can learn, observe and feel Sufism.
The presentation given by Managing Director NESPAK Asad I. A. Khan was also attended among others by Salman Faruqui, Secretary-General to the President, Malik Asif Hayat, Secretary to the President, Chief Secretary Fazal ur Rehman and other officials.
